Full Circle Client Experience: TFB Spotlight on Steffanie Anderson

Key to the path of becoming a ‘trusted advisor' type bookkeeper who provides consultative services and commands premium level fees is providing a truly valuable client experience. But how?

A great first step is by putting yourself in your clients' shoes. For some of us in the accounting profession, that is a major challenge. But not so for Steffanie Anderson of Business Cents, Inc. of Spokane, Washington. Along with her husband, she first started in business beginning in 1988, owning several different ventures over the years. She often hired QuickBooks ProAdvisors to consult with her companies to better use the software and get results. Now, she runs a her own thriving ‘Firm of the Future‘ bookkeeping and consulting firm.

Learn how she went full circle from being a ProAdvisor client with 50 employees, to starting her own bookkeeping business from a home-based office in a new city during the Great Recession when her husband lost his job and they had two kids in college.

This interview is littered with valuable insights that you can put to work for you right away in growing your own practice.

Great interview! I am just starting out and have 20 years of accounting practice but this interview spoke to me. Thank you for sharing and I have a LinkedIn request to connect!

Glad you enjoyed it Lou. We all have so much to share when we share our journey. Sorry, didn’t see you request. Maybe it didn’t “stick” for some reason?

    Hi Gabrielle,
Very impressive interview and it was a bright light for me as I am starting my Bookkeeping firm!
I want to acknowledge you for your contribution in putting time and effort in expanding this blog.
I have read a lot of useful ideas and I will refer your blog to others for sure.
Would you please list the software mentioned in the interview and there are two books name traction and both are meant to be about business.
Would you please clarify which one is the purpose?
    I appreciate it

Hi Amir – I’m pleased you enjoyed the interview, and have found The Freelance Bookkeeper helpful to your business preparations.

I’ll have to go back to re-listen for the software and books (since time has passed since we recorded it, I don’t remember off the top of my head), but until I get a chance to do that, you may want to use Google for the software, and you could reach out to Stefanie directly on social media regarding the books.
